Celebrating Boys in Dance
I’m proud to continue supporting National Boys Dance Day, an initiative that champions and empowers young male dancers across the UK. Previously run with the support of the British Ballet Organisation and The Central Ballet School, this year marks an exciting new chapter with Pineapple Dance Studios, also hosting events.
The latest pop-up performance in Covent Garden saw 40 talented dancers come together in just two hours to deliver an inspiring flashmob—proving the power of dance to unite, uplift, and challenge stereotypes. With many past ambassadors now stepping into professional careers, the momentum behind this project continues to grow.
Next up: Pineapple Boys Dance Day on April 13th, offering young dancers professional training, mentorship, and a space to celebrate their passion. It’s an honour to document these moments and witness the confidence, talent, and joy these boys bring to performing.
"Jayne’s work is simply stunning, with an attention to detail that is second to none. But beyond her artistry, it’s the way she empowers these young dancers that makes her truly extraordinary. From behind the lens, she champions their talent, capturing not just movement but confidence in every frame. The boys grow with each shot, seeing themselves in a new light—strong, expressive, and proud.
Her images, exhibitions, and the entire creative process give them a sense of validation that extends far beyond the studio. Jayne has been an integral part of National Boys Dance Day from the very beginning, and her impact on these dancers, from press features to bursaries and prizes, has been truly transformative." Natalie Pearl, National Boys Dance Day
"Jayne’s passion for boys dancing is wonderful and this is reflected in her fantastic photography. She doesn’t just photograph male dancers, Jayne captures the magic of boys in dance so beautifully and we always love working with her. We can’t wait for our next shoot at Phoenix Boys! "
